Superblock Eixample

The works for the Superblock Eixample will start this summer!⭐
Parts of some streets - Consell de Cent, Calle Rocafort, Calle Comte Borrell, and Calle Girona - are going to be turned into green corridors. In addition, four large squares, roughly 2'000 square meters each, will also be created at the junctions between these green streets.🌿
The inauguration will take place in spring of next year and the Ayuntamiento de Barcelona hopes to contest next year's elections with the new Superblock.
In the green hubs and squares pedestrians will have preference and bicycles will be able to travel along the green hubs, in both directions, alongside pedestrians and other vehicles. As the Superblock Model has one of its main objectives to reduce private car use, car drivers will be restricted with speed and traffic limits.
The city has now launched an information campaign for residents and information team are going from door to door to inform people directly.
